This relates somewhat to a post in this blog about the dilemma of choosing Net SDK to interact with SharePoint". Since there are multiple .Net SDKs the selection of one is tricky. Now think about multiple APIs to interact with. For simplicity, we are now concerned about only SharePoint Online by avoiding SharePoint services on-premises.
